On Tuesday May 24 Ray had a 5:30 appointment in Brentwood with a nice young family expecting their first child. At 6:05 the family now all had life insurance coverage and could sleep knowing they were now financially protected from devastation. Drove home, switched vehicles, and headed up the mountain to try and catch a late evening fsh on Laurel Hill Creek. Landed the first fish by 8:05 and ended the evening with 4. Denny also caught 4 fishing through a massive rainstorm. I think he is finally really getting the fishing bug.
Wednesday the crew of Redneck Engineering (Ray and Denny) had a goal to cement in the 11 posts for a new garage at the cabin. The morning went better than expected and the posts were in by noon. What better way to cap off a morning of hard labor than a trip to Meadow Run.
Found a nice level on Meadow with a few risers - even saw a half dozen green drakes. Anyway we had a great afternoon of fishing landing 5 fish of 17 inches or larger plus a few other cute lil fellers. The biggest of the day ended up being Denny's 22 inch monster that was nicknamed the Bowminator. We even met a flyfishing guide from Alaka who relocated to Cleveland. He came to Ohiopyle just to get some fly fishing action. What a treasure we have in our Western PA backyard.
